Schenectady, N.Y., January 28, 2016 — The Capital Region Land Bank today issued a request for proposals to demolish 19 more vacant buildings in Schenectady. Bids are due back to the Land Bank on February 11, 2016.
Richard Ruzzo, Chairman of the Capital Region Land Bank and a member of the Schenectady County Legislature said, “We are pleased to announce 19 more vacant and blighted buildings will be taken down by the Land Bank to continue our efforts with the City and County to boost neighborhood revitalization and improve the quality of living for our residents throughout the community.”
Mayor Gary R. McCarthy said, “We are pleased to work with the Land Bank to get rid of houses that are beyond repair while we continue to renovate and restore other homes for new residents through our H.O.M.E.S. program.”
