Velocity Print Solutions to Expand in Glenville
The Schenectady County Metroplex Development Authority today joined with National Grid to announce an expansion of Velocity Print Solutions at the Glenville Business and Technology Park in Schenectady County.
Velocity Print Solutions is a large commercial printer which employs 70 workers in Building 705 at the Glenville Business Park. The company will close a printing plant in Middlebury, Connecticut and consolidate printing operations in Schenectady County. A sales office in Connecticut will stay open.
Velocity plans to add 15 to 20 new jobs in Glenville over the next three years as a result of the consolidation. The company will invest more than $300,000 to relocate and install printing equipment in Glenville. Metroplex will provide $25,000 toward the cost of the expansion and the company is also seeking a $50,000 grant from National Grid to help offset the cost of adding electrical capacity at the Glenville plant.
The Glenville operation contains 80,000 square feet of production and warehouse space. Velocity offers turnkey solutions to its customers including printing, warehousing, mailing and fulfillment services.
