Traffic and Parking Advisory: Schenectady County SummerNight 2018 This Friday

 

Street Closures and Bus Reroutes to Occur

(Schenectady County, NY) Don’t miss Schenectady County SummerNight this FRIDAY, JULY 13, 2018 from 5:00pm until 10:00pm in Downtown Schenectady, (on State Street between Broadway and Barrett Street and on the Jay Street Pedestrian Mall.) There will be significant changes to traffic and parking in Downtown Schenectady for this event.  Please pass this information along to your employees and customers, to avoid confusion and frustration on the day of the event.

This FREE event’s headliner is the Grammy Award Nominee Spin Doctors. Additional featured performers include Lucy, Bendt, Hudsons Crew, Shoebox Dojo, City Beat, and Kevin Carey.

Street closures will occur and traffic rerouted in Downtown:

  • State Street between Broadway and Lafayette Street will be closed to vehicular traffic beginning at 10:00am on Friday, July 13. During these hours, State Street traffic will be diverted along Broadway (for eastbound traffic) and to Lafayette Street (for westbound traffic).
  • State Street between Lafayette Street and Nott Terrace will be closed to all traffic between 9:30pm and 11:00pm.
  • There will be NO PARKING on State Street between Broadway and Nott Terrace beginning at 6:00am on Friday, July 13. Meters will be “bagged” and cars parked in violation of this restriction will be ticketed and/or towed.
  • The Clinton Street North parking lot will be closed all day on Friday, July 13, except for monthly permit holders. Permit holders will not be able to enter the lot after 1:00pm and lot be not be accessible after 5:00pm. All other surface lots and the Broadway Parking Garage will remain open.

Some CDTA bus routes will also be altered. Please visit www.cdta.org/service-advisories for a list of re-routes on Friday.

The Electric City Trolley route will be altered with no stop on State Street in front of Proctors. Temporary stops will be created.

Schenectady County SummerNight is presented by Rivers Casino and Resort, Times Union, and Saratoga Eagle in partnership with B95.5, with additional support from GE, MVP Health Care, Price Chopper/Market 32, and Sunmark FCU.
