(Schenectady County, NY)  Schenectady County leaders today announced that three more companies will be moving to the Airport Business Park on Route 50 in the Town of Glenville.  C2 Design Group, Euro Tile & Stone, and Bruno Associates will each purchase land from the County and build new buildings at the business park. The three companies will invest $3 million and bring 70 jobs to the site.   The County will also gain $450,000 from property sales.

“We are excited to welcome these three growing companies to the County’s Airport Business Park and thank them for their investment in Schenectady County,” said Grant Socha, Vice-Chair of the Legislature’s Committee on Economic Development and Planning.  “The Schenectady County Airport is already home to more than 2,000 jobs and is a major asset that is central to our efforts to  attract new jobs and investment in Schenectady County.”

The County’s Airport Business Park is now home to DSM, a global leader in nutritional products; a  Regional Armed Forces Reserve Training Center; Richmor Aviation; REVA, the largest aero-medical transport company in North America and Schenectady Community College’s  flight training and air traffic controller training program.  The airport is also home to the Stratton Air National Guard base equipped with C-130 aircraft that provide airlift capacity to Polar Regions.

Bruno Associates designs and manufactures customized presses. The presses are used by manufacturers in various industry sectors including automotive, paper, composites, furniture and many other areas.  The company needs to expand and would relocate from Fort Edward, NY to Glenville.  The company has agreed to pay the County $180,000 for two acres of land.  The site that Bruno Associates wants to acquire is located on Tower Road across from the Airport Tower.  The company will invest $2 million to build a 16,000 square foot facility at this site bringing 12 jobs to the Airport Business Park growing to 20 jobs by 2022.

Sean Bruno said, “We want to thank Metroplex for working closely with us.  After considering numerous sites, we are very excited to call Glenville our new home and look forward to being part of a great community.”

C2 Design Group plans to purchase three acres for $270,000 and build an 8,000 square foot office and warehouse facility.  C2 Design Group along with Euro Tile & Stone will relocate to the Airport Business Park.  The two companies will invest over $1 million to construct a new building, locating 30 jobs at the airport with plans to grow to 50 jobs by 2022.

C2 provides design and architectural services to clients, while Euro provides custom stone and tile installation at a wide variety of commercial and residential spaces throughout the Capital Region.  The two firms are currently located in downtown Schenectady, but have outgrown their building.  An expansion is needed to provide more space for architects and marketing staff as well as showroom/warehouse space for custom stone and tile products.

After looking at numerous sites in the Capital Region, the company will relocate to the Airport Business Park retaining jobs in Schenectady County.

“I am thrilled to be able to move both the C2 Design Group and Euro Tile & Stone teams to the Airport Business Park.” said Michael Roman, owner.  “It is a fantastic opportunity and prime location for us to continue to grow and expand both businesses while remaining in Schenectady County, which has been our home for the last ten years.”

The Schenectady County Legislature called for a July 5, 2017 public hearing on the land sale during their June committee meeting.  Once approved, both companies would plan to begin construction this fall.
