Schenectady County Brings Live Music to Downtown Schenectady in September

(Schenectady County, NY)  Schenectady County, in partnership with the Downtown Schenectady Improvement Corp., is proud to announce the 2018 Jammin’ on Jay concert series. The series will begin on Thursday, September 6, 2018 with The Refrigerators, followed by Grand Central Station on Thursday, September 13, 2018. Schenectady County will conclude its Jammin’ on Jay concert series by hosting one of the biggest nights of live, local music in Downtown Schenectady at Schenectady County’s Battle of the Bands on Friday, September 21, 2018.

“September may bring the end of long summer nights, but that doesn’t mean we can’t all enjoy some great music outdoors on Jay Street,” said Cathy Gatta, Chair of the Legislature’s Committee on Tourism, Arts and Special Events.  “Grab your friends and come down to see some of the area’s favorite bands in downtown Schenectady, all for free.”

Jammin’ on Jay will take place on the Jay Street Marketplace in Downtown Schenectady from 6:00 pm until 9:30 pm.  Admission is FREE and food and beverages will be available.

Schenectady County’s Jammin’ on Jay concert series is presented in partnership with Downtown Schenectady Improvement Corp., and sponsored by Saratoga Eagle and the Times Union.  Visit www.schenectadycounty.com for more information including schedules and parking information.
