June 28, 2017

SCHENECTADY, NY — Members of the media and VIPs were given today the first look inside The Landing Hotel at Rivers Casino & Resort Schenectady. Property executives led a tour through the Capital Region’s newest boutique destination, highlighting upscale luxury features and unrivaled views of the Mohawk River.

Rivers Casino & Resort General Manager, Mary Cheeks, was joined by The Landing Hotel General Manager, Ryan Cimei, for the trip through the 165-room, contemporary property. In addition to seeing a variety of room configurations, including suites that have balconies with sweeping riverfront views, the tour highlighted upscale features and amenities that will appeal to leisure and business travelers alike.

The Landing Hotel is the final component of the $330 million Rivers Casino & Resort Schenectady to come online, and is being developed in partnership with Rotterdam-based The Galesi Group.

“In designing The Landing Hotel, we knew it was important to give visitors that feeling of arrival. Everyone knows that feeling from when the airplane lands or the GPS concludes, and you know something great is about to happen,” said Rivers Casino & Resort General Manager, Mary Cheeks. “The Landing Hotel will make our property an even greater entertainment destination, and like everything at Rivers, it’s going to be an absolutely first-class experience.”

“The Landing Hotel is both an entertainment destination and a waterfront sanctuary. We cannot wait to welcome our first guests, whether they’re in town for a business meeting, an energized weekend of fun or a wedding at our Event Center,” said The Landing Hotel General Manager, Ryan Cimei. “I’m also proud to welcome the members of The Landing Hotel hospitality team, who will be ensuring a winning experience for our guests.”

“With Rivers Casino & Resort, Mohawk Harbor, and now The Landing Hotel, there’s a renaissance underway on the Schenectady waterfront, and Galesi Group is proud of its vision and investment springing to life,” said David Buicko, Galesi Group President and CEO. “The transformation from a brownfield to entertainment, commercial and residential destination is nearly complete. There’s a new spark in Schenectady, and we are once again living up to our ‘Electric City’ moniker!”

In addition to 165 guest rooms, guests of The Landing Hotel will enjoy a state-of-the-art fitness center, chic lounge, outdoor patios and meeting space, as well as dining in the hotel lobby and bar area, adjoining patio or contemporary, inviting sunroom. Guests will be able to order room service from any of the five restaurants at Rivers Casino & Resort, or book in-room treatments from Splash Spa.

Hotel guests will also enjoy food and drink service on the adjoining Rivers Casino patio, the region’s premier waterfront dining and entertainment location. Upon arrival and departure, guests of The Landing Hotel will be able to take advantage of valet parking and bell service, 24/7.

And The Landing Hotel is steps from the Capital Region’s only full-service casino, with a state-of-the art mix of 1,150 slot machines, 67 table games and a 16-table poker room.

The Landing Hotel will bring approximately 60 quality jobs to the Capital Region. Rush Street Gaming, the operator of Rivers Casino & Resort Schenectady, operates casinos in Philadelphia, Pittsburgh and Des Plaines (outside of Chicago), all of which have been voted a “Top Workplace” or “Best Place to Work” but their team members. Rivers Casino & Resort recently held a Hiring Fair for positions at the casino and hotel that drew more than 620 job seekers.

The Landing Hotel will open in July.
