Electric City Trolley New Year’s Eve Service: Trolley to Help with Schenectady County STOP DWI Efforts

SCHENECTADY, NY (December 29, 2017) – CDTA’s Electric City Trolley will operate along its route in Schenectady on New Year’s Eve, Sunday, December 31, 2017 as part of county-wide STOP DWI efforts. Earlier this year, CDTA partnered with several Schenectady organizations to launch the free trolley service which connects attractions and destinations in Downtown Schenectady.

Trolley service will operate on New Year’s Eve from 4:00pm to 1:00am, arriving at stops throughout downtown every 20 minutes. Schenectady-based software and logistics company, Transfinder, developed a mobile app called CityFinder, that allows customers to track the location of their trolley, stops along the route, and points of interest.

The trolley service stops at a number of key locations in Schenectady, including Rivers Casino & Resort, Mohawk Harbor, the Schenectady Public Library, Hampton Inn, The Stockade, Amtrak Station, Proctors, Little Italy, State Street, Lower Union Street, DoubleTree Hotel and Courtyard Marriott. The Electric City Trolley will conclude service for the season this weekend. It will resume in spring 2018.
